Artist's Comments

Oil paint on a 24" x 48" canvas. The picture of it isn't the best since the lighting is too bright but you get the general idea. For the assignment we had to do a self portrait using "cinematic techniques". I used cool colors to mimic a lens distortion and spliced the image as if the frame were off center. the hardest part was by far the scale of the canvas. and all the damn blending. Even though they don't show up very well, i liked how the colors turned out. interpret as you will. thanks to Jave for his advice and help!

Beautiful! That looks like such a difficult color scheme to work with, the way that it goes from cyan to blues and purples. The colors look so gorgeous. The splicing effect is really cool too. :) (Smile)
